Congruent Systems builds AI for the decisions where a confident wrong answer is worse than no answer — and where the answer often can't leave the building.
Who it's for
Clinicians, lawyers, and the people responsible for compliance and safety decisions — professionals whose important answers have to be right, have to be checkable, and frequently have to stay on their own side of the wall. For that work, an AI that can't show why it's right, or won't admit when it doesn't know, isn't a productivity tool. It's a liability. We build for the opposite.
How we build it
Congruent Systems is a founder and a fleet of AI developer-agents that write, test, and review the system under a discipline we hold ourselves to: every empirical claim traces to a re-runnable artifact, and no agent approves its own work. It's an unusual way to build a company, and we think it's a strength worth being open about — the same governance we sell is the governance we run the company on. We describe the method plainly and let the evidence, not the headcount, speak for it.
How we make money
We sell the reasoning engine and the domain knowledge that runs on it — you pay for capability: more domains, deeper coverage, deployment on your own hardware, support. What you never pay for is honesty. Abstention, provenance, and refusal — the parts that keep the system from confidently misleading you — are in every version of the product, priced into none of them. We are pre-revenue and building in pilots; we'd rather earn the first dollars from a guarantee that holds than from a projection.
Our mission
Congruent Systems is built around a public-benefit purpose: safety-critical AI guarantees should be something an individual or an under-resourced institution can actually own — not a cloud dependency, not a surveillance funnel, not a privilege of scale. Two commitments make that concrete, and we are writing them down now, before there is any pricing pressure to bend them:
- The safety envelope is never a paid tier. Abstention, provenance, and refusal ship in every version. You are charged for capability, never for honesty.
- An access program for those who need it most. A discounted-and-donated tier for under-resourced clinics and community health centers — a standing commitment we hold ourselves to, not a line on a roadmap. Safety guarantees reaching the settings that can least afford a confident wrong answer is the point, not a marketing afterthought.
Partnerships
If you deploy safety-critical AI, evaluate it, or write the rules it has to live under — clinical partners, evaluators, standards and regulatory bodies — we'd like to talk. Bring the decision you can't afford to get wrong.
